Since 2004, Scottsdale Bible Church has had a relationship with two communities in Tanzania: Mairowa and Kondoa. They have built a primary school in each community where they provide quality education at no cost for students. The tuition's are instead covered by a sponsorship program offered to the SBC's congregants.

In 2018, they received a special offering to build a dormitory for adolescent girls who attend the Mairowa school. Young girls in some Tanzanian communities are subject to many cultural marriage traditions that are often brutal. The offering raised approximately $300,000, which covered the building costs as well as initial staffing for the dorm.

In June of 2021, Courtis went with a team from SBC to Tanzania to capture an update on the dorm project as well as several testimonies from sponsor children. This video is one of several that will be used to inspire others to sponsor and donate to the project.
